Graduated in Electronic Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino in 1984, Alberto Trondoli began his professional experience as a researcher at Sirti S.p.A., where he took part in European research projects (RACE and ESPRIT) in the field of local area networks (LAN) and metropolitan networks (MAN) in optical fibre and became first Director of New Network Technologies (1992) and then General Manager of the CORED Consortium – a consortium formed by Sirti, Italtel and Pirelli Cavi to manage the construction of the new Socrates network of Telecom Italia S.p.A., a consortium formed by Sirti, Italtel and Pirelli Cavi. He was then appointed Central Technical Director and, finally, Central Innovation and Corporate Development Director (1998), reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. In August 1999 he left Sirti and took part in the foundation of e.Biscom, assuming operational responsibility for Metroweb (COO) and technological responsibility for Fastweb (CTO), where he remained until 2003, when he was appointed General Manager of Fastweb S.p.A. and Bismedia S.p.A. Subsequently, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Metroweb S.p.A. and Metroweb Italia S.p.A. until the acquisition of the company by Enel S.p.A. and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti in 2016. Since 2017 he has been Chairman of the company Irideos S.p.A.
He was Chairman of Tiscali S.p.A. from June 2019 to May 2022.
